Komodo National Park is a place that many people frequent when in Indonesia. Although getting there is a bit of a pain, between the wild Komodo dragons, stunning views, and incredible diving, a trip here is well worth it for those that seek a bit of adventure.<\/p>\n

It’s also one of the most scenic trips you can do in Indonesia. As soon as you get to Flores, the small but lively town of Labuan Bajo becomes home for a few days.<\/p>\n

Dragon Dive Komodo Hostel is a great place to stay at when in Labuan Bajo, if you’re on a budget.<\/p>\n

Exuding a colorful and chilled out atmosphere, the hostel offers both bunk beds and private rooms. The dorms are simple but clean and comfortable. The private rooms are a bit pricey but they’re spacious, modern, and well-decorated.<\/p>\n

As its name suggests, this hostel is geared towards divers and there’s a dive center on-site to make it super convenient to go on diving trips. This is the spot to be to meet other divers!<\/p>\n

From a live reggae band at night to swimming and lounging around their swimming pool, Dragon Dive Komodo Hostel is one of the top places to stay for budget backpackers.<\/p>\n

Set on a hill, Ciao Hostel is the spot to be for awesome views of the sea. Located just 600m from Wae Rana Beach and 1km from the airport, it has a convenient location while still being nestled in nature. They even offer a shuttle to the town and the airport!<\/p>\n

The hostel offers bunk beds in mixed and female-only dorms at an affordable rate. While the price is a bit higher than other hostels, it is worth the few extra dollars. Some of the dorms offer single beds, so no more clambering up the steps to a top bunk!<\/p>\n

If you’re a budget traveler who prefers a chill, laid-back vibe, this is the hostel for you. The rooftop area with views of the sea is just divine, and there are lots of common areas to just hang out with a beer and make new friends.<\/p>\n

Wanting to stay right by the beach? Then check out this beachfront property, La Boheme Bajo.<\/p>\n

Offering both dorms and private rooms, this hostel has a laid-back beach vibe, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The rooms here are fairly simple, but clean and comfortable. The common areas are the real star here. Hang out on the rooftop, play a game or two of ping pong, or cook up a storm in the large shared kitchen. There are also lots of tables and chairs in the outdoor areas as well as hammocks!<\/p>\n

Don’t miss out on the breakfast included in your stay, and have a meal or two at the on-site restaurant — guests have raved about the food!<\/p>\n

Best Mid-Range Places to Stay in Labuan Bajo, Flores<\/h2>\n

For those who want to stay near the airport, Exotic Komodo Hotel is a great choice. Although a bit far from the town center, they offer a free shuttle to get you back and forth.<\/p>\n

The rooms here are clean, spacious with very comfortable beds. If you get the Deluxe rooms, the view from the balcony is beautiful. The Deluxe Villa is great value as well as you get a standalone hut all to yourself!<\/p>\n

During your stay, don’t miss out on the food at the Joglo-style restaurant. The owner is extremely lovely and really goes out of his way to accommodate you.<\/p>\n

Green Hill Boutique Hotel<\/h3>\n

This mid-range hotel is located behind an Italian restaurant (which serves amazing food). Ignore the long walk up the stairs and stay in a relatively well-priced room offering you all the amenities that you need. While the rooms here are quite simple, they’re spacious, airy, and clean, with wood furnishings.<\/p>\n

Oh, and the view in their restaurant area is stunning! Enjoy the sunset and views of the bay while you have dinner — the restaurant is said to serve delicious food at good prices.<\/p>\n

This hotel is located a few minutes walking distance from the pier, making it ideal for those who need to set out very early for dive trips or other excursions.<\/p>\n

The rooms at Komodo Lodge are modern, comfortable, and well-decorated. The AC is also a great touch as the heat can often be unbearable. For a few more dollars each night, upgrade to their Superior Rooms which come with a private balcony and garden, as well as more space to stretch out.<\/p>\n

Included in your stay is a breakfast so be sure to fill before you go out exploring! For us, this is a great place to stay for those who want a comfortable stay while in Labuan Bajo.<\/p>\n

The rooms here are super spacious, with really comfortable beds and a calming color palette. Groups or families traveling together will love their Family Room which can sleep up to four persons. For the ultimate splurge, there’s their Deluxe Suite which includes a living area, dining area, and a private balcony!<\/p>\n

You’ll love the private beach as well as the lush outdoor pool. The pool has to be one of our favorites as relaxing there after a full day of diving was pretty great. Although the wifi here is known to be slow, we didn’t have much time to use it as we were too busy going on various trips around the island.<\/p>\n

While this hotel is a bit far from the main town, the exclusivity and privacy it offers are great.<\/p>\n

The hotel premises are lovely, with a large pool area, lots of greenery, and an on-site spa. Plus, your stay includes an American breakfast!<\/p>\n

You even have your own private balcony with a seating area, a great spot to take in the breeze and relax. For groups or families, their two-bedroom villa is a good choice for more space and added privacy.<\/p>\n

The resort facilities are well-maintained and clean, and the staff are very attentive. Although the beach itself isn’t great (highly dependent on the season), the outdoor pool is a great place to relax after a day of diving.<\/p>\n

The resort also provides a free shuttle from the town and back which is a nice touch. Plus, breakfast is included in your stay!<\/p>\n
