You are right, one actually needs to plan what should be on the list for China. Everything looks perfect and those mountains, landscapes are surreal. Walking on the Great Wall of China is just like a dream and we wish to fulfill it someday. Those Terracota warriors are on the list too. Thanks for sharing this wonderful article.

There are so many places within China that I almost need to plan a couple of years for a trip! Obviously places like the Great Wall and the Terracotta Warriors are on the list, but the place I really would LOVE to see is Zhangjiajie National Forest Park – so I was glad to see it featured here! Truly gives off an other worldly impression!

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park looks absolutely breathtaking! I wonder if it’s possible to actually hike the Zhangjiajie mountains though. I gotta say China’s never been a place of interest for me just because of how crowded it is, but for views like these, I think I’m okay feeling a bit claustrophobic!

We walked on the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall and really enjoyed it because it was well-preserved and not nearly as busy as other sections. Our China trip was only along the coast, so we missed out on a lot of great spots.

In reply to Linda de Beer. I think it really depends where you go! One thing we love about the company is the fact that they really try to take you off the beaten path to avoid the crowds (something that's really hard to do while in China)

Good job in consolidating this list! The only place I’ve been in mainland China is Guang Zhou but I have been meaning to check out The Great Wall and Zhangjhiejhie like ever since the world began ? Hopefully I’ll make it soon and adding that gorgeous rainbow national park in the list as well!

We visited China a few years ago and I can see we missed out on a fair amount of great places. We loved Yangshuo and Chengdu the best at the time but now I want to go back and explore more places like the Huanglong National Scenic Reserve especially if we can see more pandas there. Tibet and Shanghai are also places we’d love to check out at some point. There is noway I could do the Huashan’s Plank Trail…. that’s way too scary and I would probably trip and die!!
